To catch the early morning or late evening light in the alpine involves a snowshoe in the dark by headlamp. In this case, going in involves a high heart-rate climb up what we call T-Bone ridge. In early February a couple snow trenches were built on Ripple Ridge which offered a warm sleep without having to haul a tent up the ridge or go in and out by dark.
