Over the years we've encountered fast moving storms high in the mountains. This storm over the Creston Valley, as seen from Thompson Mountain, is no exception. I was photographing the valley colours from the Rim trail when I realized this storm was coming on fast. Flashes of lightning and rolling thunder head straight for me. As I headed back to the truck the sun broke through the racing clouds and I grabbed this photo. The pause to photograph this scene was worth it. I love the dramatic effect of the rain falling on golden fields and rays of sun spotlighting them.
