Earl Grey Pass Sunset
"Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." – John Muir
I spent 3 days, mid August, exploring Earl Grey pass, the heart of the Purcell Wilderness. Panoramic views made for a thrilling trip! On the right is Mt. Hamill and Hamill glacier. Center stage is Mt. Toby and Toby glacier, the headwaters of Toby Creek. Toby creek would swell later in the day and form a small lake left of center. Each night I'd fall asleep to the sound of the waterfall roaring down the Hamill glacier.
Can you spot my small red tent below center on the pass? Click the picture to zoom.
I photographed this scene with a large print in mind to do justice to the view in front of me. It's shot in panoramic format and slightly under 300 megapixels. You'll see the fine details in the scene.
