Cobalt lake is a jewel in the crown of some of the world's most spectacular mountains, the Bugaboos. We spent a couple days on Black Forest Ridge to the east of the lake. An early September snowstorm turned the mountains white. As the storm cleared this scene appeared out of the clouds and mist. What excitement to watch the spires emerge from the cloud. Jaw-dropping, humbling majesty! "Cobalt" is a great name for this lake and the snow on the Bugaboos emphasize the color.
