Three days camping and hiking around the alpine headwaters of Brewer creek southeast of Invermere, BC in the Purcell mountains resulted in some good photos. The area has some nice little lakes but what we liked best was the old alpine larch forest that encompasses the headwaters.
The old trees are characters and added to the beauty and spirit of the place.
This basin is a favorite of local hikers. It’s close to Invermere and Cranbrook and a moderately easy hike. The popular loop is to hike to the lakes, scramble up Brewer mountain, hike along the ridge southwest to Mineral pass and back to the lakes.
