Alpine Autumn, Canvas Print

This scene with the solitary alpine larch on the edge of the lake has intrigued me for years. But how to capture the heart and soul of the place? Being here in the fall with the larches a smoky gold set ablaze by the setting sun helps. But the ribbon of blue water, splashed by drops of gold, transforms the scene into a mythical dream. I love the sinuous curves that lead the eye to the golden reflections in the lake. The music of two little streams feeding the lake filled the air. Canada jays sang their evening songs. An American Dipper searched for her evening meal along the water’s edge. Surrounded by beauty and life, I could live in this scene for a long time.
